Statue / monument of Mary Surratt in Washington DC by Sculptor Unknown  Subject: Mary Surratt
 Year: 0
 Sculptor:  Unknown
 Location: Chinatown
( H Street & 6th )

An unusual memorial in Chinatown, this plaque denotes the location of the Surratt Boarding House at which John Wilkes Booth and his fellow conspirators met to plan the abduction of President Abraham Lincoln and other key members of Lincoln's cabinet. Surratt was tried after the President's assassination and has the dubious distinction of being the first woman executed by the U.S. Government for her part in the plot.

The plaque was placed by the Chi-Am Lions Club.
