The statue of Queen Isabela (1451-1504) was a gift of the Institute of Hispanic Culture in Madrid to the Organization of American States. Isabela was the prime supporter of Christopher Columbus's voyages to develop a new route to the Orient. Those voyages led to his discovery of the Americas for Europe.
