This bust of Abraham Lincoln stands on the second level of Ford's Theater, about sixty feet from the entrance to the President's Box, where Lincoln was fatally shot on the night of April 14, 1865. It is just one of a large collection of Lincoln busts that are part of the Lincoln Museum, located in the lower level of Ford's Theater. The collection also contains the clothes the President was wearing the night he was assassinated and the Treasury flag on which assassin John Wilkes Booth caught his heel while jumping from the President's box to make his escape.
